MY VISION.....
is to exemplify my church's motto:
FOLLOWING GOD & LOVING PEOPLE.
The beauty of this is that it can be achieved in many different
ways and I can continually be searching for ways in which to accomplish
the goal.
I desire to help people reach their potential by assisting them in whatever they need. At the present time I'm passionate about assisting families who are unemployed, individuals who are trying to pay their monthly rent, car, payments, car insurance, buy groceries, provide childcare, and provide for other essentials of daily living. WHY YARD SALES???
Approximately ten years ago a former student teacher's
wife rang our doorbell late one evening telling my husband Jack and
myself that she had recently separated from her husband of 16 years.
She tearfully stated that she didn't know how she was going to pay her
mortgage and
feed her two children.
That weekend was my first of many yard sales to help people pay rent, buy new tires or brakes for their car, make payments on taxes, buy school clothes for children, help with funeral expenses for a teen-aged boy, buy urgently needed medications, pay for safety proofing a home for a disabled person, and simply survive while being unemployed...... those are a few examples of what it means to follow God and love people. As I mentioned above, the blessings we receive greatly outweigh anything we could ever humanly do for others. God is at work in all of these situations and He transforms us while we're doing His work; it is a mighty privilege to serve our Heavenly Father. |
